Mr. Napoleon J. “Stan” “Junior” Stanhope Jr., age 64, died March 30, 2012, unexpectedly at his home. He was born in St. Albans, son of the late Napoleon J and Effie (Buzzel) Stanhope, Sr. April 4, 1947. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. He worked at Davison Rubber in quality control. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, and the DAV Orleans County Chapter #22. Napoleon is survived by his 2 daughters, Alice Weiss of Yalaha, FL, and Michelle Aris of Palm Bay, FL, 5 grandchildren, brothers Leonard and Thomas Stanhope, and sisters, Beverly Cook, Dorothy Sprague, and Susan Stanhope, with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Honorata in 2011, and a son Robert Stanhope in 1990. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 4, 2012, his birthday, at 10:00 AM. in Holy Angels Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Stanhope lot in St. Albans Bay Cemetery. In keeping with his wishes, those wishing to make memorials are asked to consider the college fund for his grandchildren.
